THE PERSPECTIVE OF A MATHEMATICS DEGREE STUDENT IN PREPARATION FOR THE PRACTICAL TEST OF THE SÃO PAULO CITY HALL COMPETITION: EXPERIENCE REPORT

Abstract

This article aims to present the perspective of a Maths undergraduate student in preparing for the practical test for the São Paulo City Council competition for the position of Primary and Secondary Maths Teacher, through an experience report developed as a final paper for the Maths degree course on the São Paulo Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology, São Paulo Campus. The theoretical foundation is based on the work of Herarth (2020) on the concept of teaching methodology related to Problem-Based Learning (PBL), on the study by Moura et al. (2016) on the idea of Learning Triggering Situation (LTS), and the City Curriculum of the São Paulo Municipal Network. The article presents the student's preparation for the objective, discursive, and practical tests of the competition, focusing on the latter, relating the development of the lesson plans, the preparation of the video lesson with the training received during the Maths degree, including the subjects and concepts that subsidized this process.

Degree in Physics from the International University Center (UNINTER). Degree in Mathematics from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP - Campus São Paulo).

Elisabete Teresinha Guerato, Federal Institute of São Paulo

Graduated in Mathematics from the University of São Paulo. Master in Mathematics Education from Bandeirante University. PhD in Mathematics Education from the Anhanguera University of São Paulo. Professor at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo, São Paulo Campus.
