Abstract

The book “Sex and temperament” was first released in the 1930s, with subsequent insertion in later times, throughout Margaret Mead's career. This work focuses on the development of the theme, regarding individual expression, behaviors and feelings of different villages. There is also the approach, as opposed to patriarchal Western society, of the different gender roles, where the man's role consists of a more aggressive and dominant posture and the woman's is presented with a more affectionate and fragile inclination, which supposedly would be linked to biological factors.
