Abstract

This article analyzes the transformation of work in the light of changes in technical-productive paradigms, emphasizing the transition from rigid models of production, such as Taylorism and Fordism, to more flexible, integrated, and dynamic organizational forms. It is based on the premise that work is a central sociological object, especially in a scenario in which technological, economic, and social uncertainties put in check the classical conceptions of productivity, qualification, and organization of work. The text is based on the contributions of authors such as Kuhn, Morin, Weber, and Rifkin to discuss the inadequacy of the old paradigms in the face of the transformations caused by automation, cybernetics, and changes in market demands. Instead of a total break with the past, there is a gradual reconfiguration of productive practices and worker training, with the valorization of competence, autonomy, and adaptability. Although the flexible paradigm still lacks further theoretical and empirical consolidation, its advance highlights the need to review the bases on which labor relations, management, and professional training are organized. The study suggests that we are in a moment of paradigmatic transition, in which models coexist and are in tension, without being able to affirm the complete exhaustion of previous forms. The analysis proposes, therefore, a critical approach that is open to the complexity of contemporary productive reality.
