Abstract

This study evaluates the feasibility of an architectural project aimed at implementing a vocational training center in the municipality of Várzea Alegre. The proposal is based on the historical contextualization of vocational education worldwide and in Brazil, highlighting the models adopted by public and private institutions, as well as by the Sistema S. It also presents data regarding vocational education in Brazil. To achieve the proposed objectives, a qualitative and exploratory approach was adopted, grounded in a bibliographic review of books, journals, and scientific articles, with emphasis on the work Educação Profissional no Brasil, by Silvia Maria Manfredi. In addition, an electronic questionnaire was developed and made available to local residents in order to understand the population’s opinion regarding the implementation of the institution. Throughout the research, an analysis of the local socioeconomic reality is also carried out, aiming to understand how the establishment of a vocational school can contribute to regional development and to the qualification of individuals, providing better opportunities.
