RELIGION AS A CONSCIOUSNESS FACTOR FOR ETHICAL DIALOGUE

Abstract

In a world marked by symbolic violence, the denial of the other to religion cannot be an instrument that creates barriers, encouraging the masses or groups of believers to close in on their dogmas and cling to certainties. An awareness of openness and closeness to the unknown is increasingly urgent, and that this involvement awakens a commitment and an ethical experience that involves us in a fraternal and dialogical bond. In this sense, religion has had more and more participation in political debates, in social issues and in the orientation of the lives of those who seek it. The objective of this article is to demonstrate that religions, in the future, should have an awareness in human life, in human rights, such as social justice, valuing life more than cultures of violence. For this, the role of ethics in human life is analyzed, and how it can free us from this obscurantism and the crisis of values, when the majority of humanity no longer knows how to discern what is right and what is not. For this study, readings were made by authors who have studied and sought to understand the theme, especially the religious phenomenon.
